Chapter III. Membership
Article 7:category of membership:individual member, organizational member, honorary member and student member. Members with excellent academic achievements, good performance and influence in the interior design field can be promoted to be senior members with approval of the council.  Members with outstanding academic achievements or important contributions in the business fields of SZAID can be conferred honorary titles on them with the approval of the council.
Article 8:applicants should meet the following criteria to become members of SZAID:
1. Abide by laws, support the leadership of the Communist Party of China and its government;
2. In agreement with the Constitution of SZAID;
3. Willing to join SZAID as a member;
4. To be engaged in businesses in connection with those of SZAID.
5. Organizational members must have business license or a legal status.
Article 9:Apart from the requirements in Article 8, the following credentials are needed:
1. One of the following credentials is needed for individual members:
  (1). Diploma or professional certificates in interior design or related fields;
  (2). Technical titles or certificates as architect, engineer, lecturer, assistant researcher;
  (3). Over two years experience in interior design field, good professional skills and performance.
2. The following credentials are needed for organizational members:
  Willing to join and support SZAID as members, units can be members such as design firms, research and teaching institutions, constructors, manufacturers, management entities, materials suppliers.
3. Student members:
  Students in the fields of interior design, ambient arts design, architecture.
4. Honorary members:
Supporters with significant contributions to SZAID can be given the titles after the approval of the council.
Article 10: Membership procedure:
1. Fill out application forms, photocopies of ID Card, diploma, certificates and representatives for individual member; photocopies of qualifications, license for organizational members; photocopies of student ID for student members;
2. The secretariat will review and verify the documents. In case of incomplete documents, applicants need to replenish or fill out the application again;
3. The council will review and approve;
4. If approved, the secretariat will advise the respective applicants with notice. With proper photos and fees payment, membership card and registration will be done.

Article 11:Members have the following rights:
1. To participate in activities organized by SZAID;
2.To take advantage of the SZAID reputation in business;
3. With the right to vote and to stand for election;
4.With the right to speak, propose and vote;
5. With the priority to obtain services provided by SZAID;
6. With the right to make comments, advice and monitoring in relation to the operation of SZAID;
7. With the right to ask SZAID for protection from any damage;
8. With the freedom to join or terminate their membership;
9. Honorary members have no right for election, recall or voting.
Article 12:Members have the following obligations:
1. To render membership fee according to related regulations;
2. To fulfill the missions assigned by SZAID;
3. To pursue policies and to implement resolution of SZAID;
4.To attend meetings and activities organized by SZAID ;
5. To safeguard the reputation, honors and legal rights of SZAID;
6. To submit research results and data.
Points 1, 2, 4, 6 are not applicable to honorary members.
Article 13:Once verified, members may be punished with a warning or revocation of membership in the following cases:
1. In violation of the Constitution of SZAID or its resolution;
2. To do harm to the reputation of SZAID;
3. To fail to pay fees due, or membership can be deemed to be revoked voluntarily if fees are unpaid for two consecutive years;
4. In violation of laws, to be guilt to charges or be deprived of political rights.

Article 14:Organizational members may be deemed to withdraw their membership automatically in case of bankruptcy.
Article 15: Membership certificate needs to be returned in case of withdrawal. No fees can be refunded if membership is revoked.  For re-entry of membership, fees owed by members need to be paid in advance before the approval of the council resolution.
